The voluptuously fruity, dense ruby/purple-colored 2003 Shiraz Trumps offers up rich aromas dominated by creme de cassis and blackberries with notions of licorice, underbrush, and spice in the background. The pure fruit continues on the palate resulting in a velvety-textured, seamless expression of Shiraz displaying impeccable winemaking. This cuvee was aged completely in old American oak. While it may not be the longest lived Barossa Valley Shiraz, for drinking over the next 5-7 years, it offers considerable pleasure. Importer: Benjamin Hammerschlag, Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; tel.
