The first vintage produced since the 2010, Chapoutier's 2019 Hermitage Vin de Paille is a lush, honeyed, sweet wine loaded with peachy fruit. There's a touch of volatility on the nose—common in dessert wines—and enough citrus zest present on the lengthy finish to provide a sense of balance. Sourced from the l'Ermite lieux-dit and partially dried prior to pressing, it spent three years in demi-muid and measures 130 to 150 grams per liter of residual sugar and 13.5% alcohol.
