The 2007 Rompesedas comes from El Pego from their 74.5-hectares of vines, the oldest of which are 100 years of age. The 2007 was picked between October 2 and 16 and underwent a six-day carbonic maceration with two daily punch downs before being aged in 20% Hungarian, 60% French and 20% American oak. It offers a ripe bouquet of dark cherries, yellow plum, orange blossom and a touch of Indian ink that is nicely defined. The palate is fleshy and ripe with copious sweet dark cherry fruit laced with marmalade and a touch of honey. It offers a rich, sweet, ravishing finish that is heady and powerful. This is not subtle, but will find approval from the hedonists among you.
