It is rare to find a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Russian River (this is Chardonnay and Pinot Noir country), but Dehlinger continues to produce one. Their 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, from a challenging vintage, exhibits straightforward notes of ripe black currant fruit intermixed with leather and underbrush. Dense but monolithic, this medium-bodied Cabernet needs 2-3 years of cellaring. While it should last for 12-15 years, how much more complexity and charm will develop is questionable. Tel.
