Tom Dehlinger's modesty is best exemplified by the fact that he calls his proprietary red wine a Cabernet/Merlot Blend. Production for this outstanding wine is limited to 400 cases.The 1996 Cabernet/Merlot Blend reveals a saturated opaque purple color, followed by a gorgeous nose of blackberries, vanillin, licorice, and floral notes. Chewy and full-bodied, with a viscous texture, low acidity, sensational fruit extraction, and a mouth-coating finish, this is a large-scaled yet sexy wine that can be drunk now or cellared for 15 or more years. There are only 390 cases of the outstanding 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon. Its dense purple color is accompanied by a sweet nose of chocolate, dried herbs, smoke, licorice, and copious berry and cassis fruit.
