The 1980 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru is showing well, bursting with aromas of exotic spices, raspberries, bergamot, black tea, redcurrant and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's bright and perfumed, with melting tannins and a pure, ethereal profile, concluding with a saline finish. This is a pretty, delicate example of the vintage and of this cuvée.
