In 2003, this estate decided not to make their top cuvee, The Election Shiraz, so essentially, the 2003 Shiraz The Sack (a blend of 94% Shiraz and 6% Grenache) is their only offering. Aged in a combination of American and French wood, it is a dense ruby/purple-tinged, spicy effort revealing sweet, intense, blackberry fruit intermixed with loamy soil, crushed herb, and licorice characteristics. Medium to full-bodied and surprisingly accessible, it should age nicely for 7-8 years.Importers: Peter Weygandt, Weygandt-Metzler, Unionville, PA; tel.
