The 2011 Berola is a 1,400-case blend of 70% Garnacha, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon that was aged in both French and American oak for 10 months, then given 14 additional months of bottle age. It boasts a deep ruby/plum/purple color, notes of blackcurrants, tobacco leaf, licorice and pepper, a velvety texture, and an elegant yet substantial, medium-bodied personality displaying loads of fruit and glycerin as well as a heady finish. It, too, is an unreal value. Drink now-2017.
