The first rosé I've tasted from Xavier, the 2014 Cotes du Rhone Rose is a beautiful blend of 40% Mourvedre and 20% each of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, made via saignée (or bleed off from skins), that was raised all in stainless steel. It's a clean, refreshing and elegant effort that has vibrant watermelon, flower blossom, raspberry and a touch of salty minerality on the nose. Well-made, balanced and highly drinkable, it's a terrific value that's well worth a multiple bottle purchase. I suspect it will drink nicely into 2016 as well.
