There are two single vineyard Pinot Noir offerings, one from the Arrendell Vineyard in Green Valley, and the other from the Russian River vineyard called Sanchietti. I have a slight preference for the Arrendell cuvee because of its richer, more complex nose. However, both are expressive and fragrant, with excellent levels of black cherry and smoke intertwined with meat, herb, and spice notes. The 1995 Pinot Noir Arrendell gets my nod over the 1996, simply because it is a richer, more multidimensional wine with excellent vibrancy to its smoky, cherry fruit flavors. One of the star estates in the Kendall-Jackson group known as Artisans and Estates, Hartford Court is a "showcase chateau" in the Russian River Valley, just off Martinelli Road. I have enjoyed everything this winery has released to date.
