The 2013 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Clos es Guettes (under the Domaine Gagey label), which comes from the middle of the slope and is cultivated organically, has an appealing ripeness on the nose with lush red plum and redcurrant jam scents that are nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and plenty of red fruit laced with orange rind and a dash of black pepper, the wine finishing in assured, harmonious style. This has very good potential.
