Made from 100% Grenache and aged 16 months in 40% new French oak, the 2012 On The Road is a blockbuster-styled effort that stays lively, elegant and fresh. Loaded with peppery herbs, licorice, earth and darker berry fruit, it’s unabashedly California and has fantastic purity and richness. Enjoy this beauty over the coming 4-5 years. I loved these latest releases from winemaker Russell From. His 2011s are excellent in the vintage, with slightly toned down, elegant profiles that stay focused and tight on the palate.
