The 2009 On the Road (Grenache) bursts from the glass with layers of exotic dark red fruit, flowers, sweet herbs and spices. This is a relatively large-scaled dark style of Grenache with notable fleshiness and fine overall balance that blossoms nicely through to the generous finish. The wine spent 18 months in French oak barrels, 30% new. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
These two wines from Harrison Clarke are made in an overt, jammy style with tons of richness and textural opulence.
