The 2010 Verdeca Messapia is a tasty, crisp, unoaked white best suited to near-term drinking. Flowers and grapefruit linger on the bright finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2013. Quality continues to improve at this venerable estate. The wines have become far more consistent since the arrival of oeonologist Riccardo Cotarella a few years back.
