The 2018 Bolgheri Rosso is a blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. This wine offers the Bolgheri basics with a rather thin and short-lived manner. It never ventures beyond those basics. You get dark red fruit with subtle tones of spice and tobacco. The mouthfeel is compact and lean, so perhaps the best food pairing would contrast the thinness of the wine with a fatty cream or butter sauce. Production is 100,000 bottles.
