The 2012 Bolgheri Rosso (60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot) shows vintage heat with ripe flavors of strawberry and prune. Darker tones of licorice, cinnamon and nutmeg fill in the finish. This is a pleasantly simple wine with a heavy texture and dark concentration that make it ideal for near-term consumption.
