The dark ruby-colored Non-Vintage (so-labeled because it is a blend of 2005 and 2006) Algueira Pizarra is sourced from the estate’s oldest Mencia vineyards and aged in barrel for 12-13 months. It has a more nuanced bouquet with notes of cigar box, underbrush, graphite, black cherry, and black raspberry. On the palate it shows off an elegant style with racy, vibrant fruit, excellent balance, and a long, pure finish. It has several years of aging potential and should be at its best from 2012 to 2020.
