The inky/purple-tinged 2005 Syrah Thompson Vineyard reveals hints of tar, spring flowers, barbecue smoke, pepper, and cassis. Playing it close to the vest, it is a broad, powerful, muscular, tannic, backward Syrah that requires 1-2 years of bottle age. It should evolve for a decade or more.
