Jaffurs’ wines continue to go from strength to strength, and recent vintages have been the finest I have yet tasted from this producer. The full-bodied 2004 Syrah Thompson Vineyard demonstrates Syrah’s floral, blackberry, smoky character, more acidity than any of its siblings, and comes across as more elegant and restrained with additional minerality.
