The estate's 2009 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a big, juicy wine bursting with red fruit. This mouth-filling, generous red delivers tons of pleasure for a very reasonable tariff. The radiant finish makes it hard to resist a second taste. The straight Montepulciano is another standout from Cataldi Madonna. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.
Cataldi Madonna is a great source for delicious wines from Abruzzo. I tend to gravitate towards the lower end of the spectrum, where most of the best values lie.
