From one of my favorite Montepulciano d'Abruzzo producers, this dark ruby-colored 1999 offers tell-tale aromas of cocoa, red and black currants, with a touch of herbs and cinnamon for additional complexity. In the mouth, it is sexy, ripe, opulent, and fleshy with plenty of fruit as well as a hint of almonds. Consume this pure, fat effort over the next 1-2 years.
