The 2013 Savigny les Beaune les Lavieres, which comes from Aux Fournaux (not mentioned on the label) and sees no new wood, has a light, crisp and clean bouquet with blackcurrant and briary scents. The palate has a citric entry with slight chalky tannin, quite masculine in style, but displaying commendable energy toward the terse, almost stoic, dark berry finish. This should drink well for 3 or 4 years once it is bottled.
