Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Cabernet / Merlot displays notes of black and red currants, wild blueberries and freshly crushed blackberries with touches of lavender and bay leaves. The palate reveals lovely harmony – even at this youthful stage – with mouth-filling blackberry flavors supported by firm, finely grained tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing with great length. Drink it now to 2025+. The Te Motu vineyard is just a stone’s throw from Stonyridge, first planted in 1989 by the Dunleavy family. The property was sold a few years ago to a large corporation, but was very recently purchased back with the Dunleavy family once again being major shareholders.
