Caliterra’s flagship wine is the 2006 Cenit, a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Malbec, and 20% Petit Verdot (a variety playing an increasingly important role in Chile’s red blends). Cenit spent 18 months in 100% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored and thick in appearance, it has a classy perfume of violets, scorched earth, pencil lead, blackcurrant, and blackberry. Lush, dense, and structured on the palate, it will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and perform at its best from 2012 to 2026. Importer: A.V. Brands, Columbia, MD; Tel: (410) 884-9463
