Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 The Potter Garnacha gives and oxidative, evolving nose of ripe black berries, prunes and Chinese dried plums nose with underlying notes of pepper, sandalwood, spice box and tree bark. Very full bodied and powerful on the palate, the richness of fruit is offset by very crisp acidity and textured by a medium level of velvety tannins. It has a long, slightly warm finish. Drink it now through 2015. Tscharke’s Barossa Gold label represents good value wines made from the Glaymond range’s de-selected barrels.Importer: Martin Scott Wines, www.martinscottwines.com
