This is lacking a little character on the nose: a little innocuous with just a faint hint of grapefruit. However, the palate is well-balanced with some attractive spicy, caster oil notes, but is rather linear on the finish. A decent commercial Pinot Gris. Drink now. Thick and slightly sweet—the residual sugar here clocks in at 9.7g/L—this is a ripe, well-rounded Pinot Gris filled with flavors of apple, pear and melon. Cantaloupe is especially noticeable on the finish. Try well-chilled as an aperitif, or perhaps with slightly spicy foods.——W.E.(7/1/2007)—— 86
