The Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo Martinenga is a delightful surprise with a very well-articulated bouquet that, albeit simple, really nails the true character of the grape. Winemaking is in stainless steel only. There are layers of wild berry and cassis, plenty of blue flower and subtle mineral background tones. This estate succeeds at bringing out the nuances of Nebbiolo. This is an ideal trattoria choice, with 25,933 bottles released.

The 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo Martinenga shows delicate fiber and a thin veiling of small forest fruit, licorice and rain-washed stone or cement. Those small details converge to create a very elegant and polished expression of Nebbiolo. For its accessibility and drinkability, I highly recommend this pretty wine.
