Made with splashes of Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier, the 2017 Syrah Ruckus is loaded with generous Syrah tones with juicy blackberries, black peppercorn, hints of roasted herbs and black olives. Full-bodied, robust and food-friendly, the wine is a heavy hitter with layers of flavors, revealing crème de violet, spiced plum compote and bitter dark chocolate and loads of fine-grained tannins on the mid-palate. The wine concludes with a long-lingering and expressive finish that continues to evolve for moments after the wine has left the mouth. Only 3,204 bottles were made of this wonderful Syrah that is absolutely deserving of its name. Drink until 2030.
