The organic 2021 Chianti Classico has ripe fruit notes of dried strawberry and raspberry with soft tannins and a little extra textural softness to remind you of a hot summer season. The wine shows red fruit flavors, blue flower, earth and spice for an easy-drinking entry-level proposition. Some 50,000 bottles were made.

Riecine kicks off its entry-level position with this terrific 2020 Chianti Classico. The wine is all Sangiovese with fruit selected from across 12 hectares with schist galestro clay soils. It is simple and bright with wild fruit, bramble and white pepper. Those somewhat wild aromas are very specific to Gaiole in Chianti, especially this corner of the subzone near the village, after which it takes its name. This cool growing site makes sharp and elegant Sangiovese. Production is 50,000 bottles.

The Riecine 2018 Chianti Classico is a silky and streamlined wine that offers terrific purity and linearity. Given the wine's simple and direct approach, you could pair it with pasta or grilled meats. There is plenty of cherry and cassis fruit, all followed by light touches of smoke, tar and crushed rose.
