The 2009 Tinto "QO" (with the big and highly stylized "Q" with an "O" inside it on the label) is a blend of 30% each of Aragonez and Trincadeira, 20% Syrah, 15% Alicante Bouschet and 5% Touriga Nacional. While not terribly concentrated, this shows some style and structure. Gamey and aromatic, smokey and bright, with the Syrah poking up its head, it shows some backbone in its youth and good focus. The funky notes were strong enough, however, to make this a divisive wine - not everyone will tolerate them, and they became pretty strong. For those who do, this is a pretty nice value in its price range, but it often seems off-putting. There were approximately 2,600 cases produced. Drink now-2014.
