Produced from a vineyard planted in 1982 from cuttings taken from the original 1880s vines, the 2009 The Cuttings Shiraz gives a deep garnet-purple and aromas of ripe cassis, cedar, Indian spices, licorice, crushed blackberries and violets. The full bodied palate is concentrated and nicely balanced with the generous fruit supported by firm fine grained tannins and lively acid, finishing long and layered. Approachable now, it should cellar to 2019+. Importer: Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; tel. (206) 923-1376
