The 2006 Shiraz The Cuttings was aged for 16 months in French oak, two-thirds new. It is dark ruby-colored with an attractive nose of cedar, black cherry and blueberry. Forward on the palate, it is ripe and tasty but in need of greater depth and concentration. The finish is a bit clipped as well. The Poonawatta wines are made by Reid Bosward of Kaesler fame.Importer: Ben Hammerschlag, Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; tel. (206) 923-1376
