The 2006 Petit Verdot displays a deep garnet color and pronounced spicy notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, fenugreek and cumin seeds over warm mulberries and kirsch, raspberry preserves and some underbrush. Medium to full-bodied with plenty of complex berry and savory flavors, it is well supported by high acidity and a medium level of silky tannins. The finish is long and spicy. Very deep garnet black in color, the 2005 Petit Verdot has aromas of dried plums, mulberries and warm blackberries over cloves, dusty earth, white pepper and sandalwood. Full-bodied and crisp in the mouth, it presents a moderate concentration of earthy, dark berry fruit, medium-firm fine tannins and a long earthy finish. Drink it now through 2014.
