Blended of 46% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 5% Syrah, 2009 Stone Paddock Scarlet gives a medium-deep garnet-purple color and a moderate intensity of warm plum, blackberry and baking spice aromas with hints of bay leaf and white pepper. Medium bodied, it gives just enough taut fruit in the mouth with very crisp acidity and chewy tannins, finishing long and blackberry laced.
