The 2013 Joven is a young, fresh, fruity Tempranillo from their younger vines, which aged for a short time in oak barrels. It has a fruit-driven nose, is clean and shows polished tannins and good acidity, which makes it feel supple and tasty. One of the finest young Riberas I tasted for this article. Very good value. Drink now.
Pago de los Capellanes produces one million bottles. In the context of the region, and compared with their older vintages, I found some irregular wines and was a bit disappointed with the 2010s, which I expected would have more stuffing.
