The 2003 Cuvee 6 Cepages, as the name suggests, is equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Petit Meslier and Arbanne from vineyards in Buxeuil and Polisy, which are both in the Cote des Bar. The wine shows lovely definition in its floral, high-toned aromas and flavors, but ultimately it is the heat and concentration of the year that seem to speak loudest in the wine’s overall balance. Though plush and deep, the 2003 Cuvee 6 Cepages nevertheless shows terrific freshness and length, with suggestions of ginger, pears, biscuit and flowers that linger on a long, exquisite finish. The 6 Cepages was fermented in neutral oak and bottled June 11, 2004 with 10 grams dosage. No disgorgement date provided. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015 Moutard is a small, family-run estate located in Buxeuil, in the Cote des Bar, that traces its lineage back to the 17th century. These wines are loaded with character and personality, and are all recommended.A Thomas Calder Selection, imported by Polaner Selections, Mt. Kisco, NY; tel.
