Matured for 22 months in French oak and displaying a deep garnet-purple color, the 2007 Mount Pleasant Old Paddock and Old Hill Shiraz has pronounced mulberry and ripe blueberry aromas with some anise, cloves, cedar, toast and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, concentrated and very crisp in the mouth, it has a lovely texture of firm, velvety tannins to support, finishing long with a little cedar mingling with the dark berry flavors. Approachable now, it should drink nicely to 2019.
