Compared to the classic Bolgheri Rosso from Micheletti, this 2018 Bolgheri Rosso Dalleo is a bit clearer and cleaner in terms of its delivery. There are hints of that burnt or scorched earth quality that I got in the other wine; however, this wine ultimately delivers a better view onto dark cherry and blackberry, opening the door for more primary intensity. With a few extra swirls of the glass, the bouquet comes into better perspective still. The mouthfeel is thin, compact and easy in this blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon with equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc. About 6,000 bottles were made.
