The 2001 Nebbiolo d’Alba La Val dei Preti, happily, indicates that things are back in stride. Everything is in place here, from the dark garnet color to the strawberry, rose petal, and balsamic nose and ample, textured flavors of ripe red fruit, incense, and cedar, warm and enveloping on the finish and aftertaste. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2016.The Correggia family is fortunately back at work after the tragic death of Matteo Corregia in a freak tractor accident, operating with an in-house oenologist and the outside assistance of Giorgio Rivetti. The wines remain among the most important of the Roero, the zone just across the Tanaro river from Barolo.A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel.
