Drouhin's 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Champimonts is very promising, opening in the glass with a lovely bouquet of cherry, raspberry, licorice, rich earth, dried flowers and a light touch of meaty reduction which dissipates with aeration. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, plush and generous, with an ample chassis of velvety tannins, ripe acids and an expansive profile. A lovely wine which exemplifies how successful the Beaune premiers crus can be in the 2015 vintage.
