The best wine in the line is unquestionably the 2000 Messer Andrea, Negroamaro and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a tarry, mineral nose which combines plum fruit and notes of plum liqueur. The palate adds chocolate and tar to the ripe fruit flavors in a sizeable, broad-shouldered, and burly format, very substantial but with tannins well masked by the fleshiness of the texture.
