The 2008 Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo is a pretty, delicate wine laced with sweet red fruit, herbs and crushed flowers. It shows plenty of Etna character in a style that is more approachable then de Grazia's Terre Nere bottling from the same site. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. Marc de Grazia makes these wines on behalf of his daughter, Eli, who designs the labels. A sizeable percentage of the profits from this venture are directed to the pediatrics department at the Florence hospital. De Grazia makes about 6,000 bottles of each of these wines. The 2007 Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo is an attractive mid-weight red with pretty cherries, flowers and spices, all framed by silky tannins. The finish is round and inviting. This is a very representative wine from the Etna. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014. Importer and winemaker Marc de Grazia makes these wines. A portion of the profits go to Florence's Meyer Pediatric Hospital.
