Medium garnet in color with a touch of brick, the 2009 Proprietary Red (Cabernet Franc/Merlot/Malbec) has a very promising, mature nose of dried mulberries, kirsch and blackberry tart with nuances of incense, sandalwood, dried herbs, leather, espresso and chocolate box. The elegant palate has aged beautifully into savory and spice notes plus a good wallop of mid-palate fruit, supported by velvety tannins and a lively backbone, finishing with many layers.
