I had a preference for the richer, more complex and aromatic 1989 Barbaresco Viglino over the soft, elegant yet surprisingly light and easy-going 1990 Barbaresco Viglino. Rosso's style emphasizes up-front, precocious drinking in a low acid, smooth as silk format. The 1989 possesses more concentration and ripeness than the round, straightforward 1990. Both wines should be consumed over the next 5-6 years. No known American importer.
