In recent years Georges Duboeuf has expanded his Beaujolais empire to include selected Rhone Valley estates. Perhaps his greatest achievement is the wonderfully fresh, dry, crisp rose that he is producing from selected viticultural regions in the south of France. While under French law his newest cuvee, bottled in February, 1991, cannot be vintage designated, it is, in fact, a product of the 1990 vintage. Made from 40% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and the rest an assortment of grapes such as Cinsault and Alicante, it is a gorgeously fresh, dry rose with tons of floral, cherry, and strawberry fruit. Drink this bargain-priced, perfect summer wine before the end of 1991.
