Mostly aged in stainless steel, the 2017 Condrieu les Mandouls offers hints of honey and orange blossom on the nose but also crisp pineapple fruit. With no malolactic fermentation, this medium to full-bodied wine finishes crisp and zesty, hinting at citrus pith.

The 2016 Condrieu Les Mandouls features varietally correct notes of spring blossoms and apricots, but it also comes across as tight and underdeveloped. Drink this medium-bodied, restrained example of Condrieu over the next few years.

Clean and crisp, the 2015 Condrieu Les Mandouls (it’s named after an almond tree) gives up notes of tangerine, citrus blossom and crushed rocks, and is clean, tight and nicely focused on the palate. It needs a year in bottle, but is outstanding.

Made in a big, rich style, the 2014 Condrieu les Mandouls offers abundant notes of tangerine, apricot, white flowers and honey in a ripe, full-bodied, voluptuous style. Showing more citrus and freshness in the mouth (and with time in the glass), enjoy this full-throttle beauty over the coming 2-4 years.

We finished the tasting with the 2013 Condrieu les Mandouls, and I think it's probably the best vintage of this cuvee to date. Apple blossom, apricot, tangerine and lots of minerality all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, elegant and seamless beauty. It has classic Condrieu character and will impress for 2-3 years.
