The 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Castel Ringberg offers ripe citrus aromas that are softened by more prominent tones of pear and Golden Delicious apple. Some 15% of the wine is barrel fermented and undergoes malolactic fermentation. The final blend is made in spring following the harvest, so this wine has had plenty of time to settle and find balance. Some 30,000 bottles were produced.

The 2013 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Castel Ringberg is a delicious expression of Italy’s most popular workhorse grapes that puts the quality of its fruit and its territorial fingerprint on full display. Round and supple tones of white peach, pear, lemon curd and honeydew melon render a balanced and attractive bouquet. Fifteen percent of the wine is fermented in oak and you can just make out that added layer of exotic spice and butter (the wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation). It will probably age up to three or four years.
