Offering up aromas of cherries, berries and subtle spices, the 2019 Santenay 1er Cru Passetemps Rouge is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit, supple tannins and lively acids. Pure, seamless and charming, this has turned out very nicely.

The 2018 Santenay 1er Cru Passetemps Rouge is showing well, bursting with aromas of plums, cherries and spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, it's bright and lively, with refined tannins and a nicely defined finish. The amplitude and musculature of the vintage are very elegantly rendered.

The 2016 Santenay 1er Cru Passetemps Rouge offers attractive brambly red berry fruit on the nose, quite natural and more refined than the Les Hates. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity, plenty of juice cranberry and blackcurrant notes that belie the structure underneath. This is an excellent Santenay that deserves a couple of years in bottle for the tannins to soften.
