The Savigny-les-Beaune Vieilles Vignes (which comes from three parcels of vine averaging 70 years) has plenty of crunchy cranberry and raspberry fruit on the nose, with light chalky scents that emerge with time. The palate is fresh on the entry with firm tannins. This is a more masculine Savigny with light bell pepper notes furnishing the finish. This will probably be earlier drinking than other vintages. Tasted May 2013.
