Aromas of sweet cherries, berries and petals preface the 2020 Beaune Les Epenottes, a medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy wine that's ample and succulent, with good concentration, succulent acids and ripe tannins. If anything, it's more demonstrative than its 2019 counterpart, something that can't be said of many 2020s.

Aromas of sweet berry fruit, warm spices, forest floor and raw cocoa preface the 2019 Beaune Les Epenottes, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and structured wine that's quite tightly wound, with fine concentration, lively acids and ripe tannins that assert themselves on the finish. This will require a bit of patience, but its track record for aging with grace is excellent.

From a parcel planted in 1946 comes the 2018 Beaune Les Epenottes, a lovely cuvée that unfurls to reveal aromas of cassis, dark berries, black truffle and peony. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and gourmand, with a layered core of fruit and refined structuring tannins. This is well worth seeking out.

The 2017 Beaune Les Epenottes is lovely, offering up attractive aromas of cherries, truffle, rich soil tones and a subtle top note of rose petal. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and youthfully tight-knit, with a juicy core of fruit, bright acids and fine structuring tannins that gently assert themselves on the finish.

The 2015 Beaune Les Epenottes, from 70-year-old vines planted in 1946, has something almost languid on the nose, fleshy red cherry and strawberry fruit, nicely defined although maybe just needing a little more vigor? The palate is structured with a touch of hardness on the entry, quite sappy with a mixture of red and black fruit, mixed with sous-bois and blood orange notes towards the finish that shows good backbone. Be inclined to give this 3-4 years in bottle.
